BIOLOGICAL SAFETY

Airtek helps Clients develop effective programs that can be implemented in the workplace to address control of biological organisms for occupant wellbeing and safety indoors. Whether it be a laboratory, cleanroom, food processor, healthcare facility or commercial building, a biological safety program may be put in place to prevent exposure to airborne and waterborne biological agents where the source is being generated within or outside of the control areas of the building.

Reference guideline sources for biological safety programs include the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC), World Health Organization (WHO).

Laboratory biological safety plans may accompany the design of BSL1 -4 laboratories. Biological safety levels (BSL) are a series of protections that take place in particular biological labs. A BSL1 is the lowest level of the four levels of biosafety levels and applies to low-risk microbes that pose little or no threat of infection in healthy adults.

Implementing a biological safety program into your workplace does not have to be an overwhelming experience for you or your team. Airtek Environmental collaborates with the end-user personnel to develop written procedures and training opportunities to ease implementation of safety programs we support.

– Assessing appropriate biosafety level required
– Development of written biosafety programs
